These are the details and specification of our sailing yacht, Aqua Pearl, a fin-keeled Westerly Seahawk which we are offering for sale as we have recently purchased larger yacht in which to continue our adventures. She has recently been trucked back from the Med to Suffolk where she is ashore at Shotley Point Marina.
She was built in 1987 and for the past 13 years has looked after my wife and I extremely well. We have sailed her extensively around the south coast of England, Holland, Belgium and France, before sailing across the Bay of Biscay to explore the Mediterranean seven years ago.
Before we ventured across Biscay we bought new Jeckells sails renewed the standing rigging and fitted a new Furlex roller reefing system. As we were sailing with Rally Portugal, Aqua Pearl was brought up to full RORC safety specification for ocean sailing, however we crossed Biscay safely and without drama.
Since arriving warmer waters we have made a number of improvements including a custom made bimini (essential) teak bathing platform from which to cool off (practical), a more efficient fridge for the beers (wonderful), solar panels and increased battery capacity (sensible).
Aqua Pearl is extremely spacious, very well equipped and offers the opportunity to own a strong, go-anywhere yacht that will allow her new owner to sail safely in complete comfort.
